So i thought i could dance...

and now my everything hurts.

I just had an intense week of dance classes, trying to decide which studio to join. Montreal has some great adult dance classes for all levels. I tried modern contemporary at Ballet Divertimento, which offers a wide range of dance classes geared at adults with limited to extensive dance training. LADMMI has a great Intro to Contemporary Dance course for adults, which is at a beginner level, but still challenging to those who have a backgraound in dance. My favourite class was hip hop at Studio Sweatshop, where they offer everything fom hip hop to breaking to bboy/bgirl classes. Now I'm torn as to which studio I should actually join.

I've always been inspired by dance attire, but not so much the stage costumes as the warm up gear. I remember as a young ballet dancer, we'd go for tours of the professional dance companies. We'd see the ballerinas draped in leg warmers, cut off sweatshirts and some with just pieces of fabric artfully draped around them. With all of the Black Swan hype, I'm sure there will be a slew of dance inspired looks on the upcoming runways.

Blog of blogs - Une Parisienne a Montreal

A match made in heaven (but rarely seen together): Brunch and Fashion...these are a few of my favourite things. As a fellow food and fashion enthusiast, I can't contain my excitement for this blog - Une Parisienne a Montreal.
Laure seems to really share the same taste as me in terms of brunch. I definitely will use her blog as a guide for many brunches to come! check out some tasty pictures:

Fuschia - Epicerie Fleur 4050 Colonial.

This is the cutest little Epicerie. Often at brunch, a two piece band will play right at your table. Perfect for a snowy morning.

Brunch at Le Hachoir 4177 St Denis:
This is my new favourite spot for good food in Montreal. Specializing in fancy burgers, Hachoir has a trendy yet cozy atmosphere that could easily be mistaken for a New York hot spot. I have yet to try the brunch though, so that'll be on my to do list for next weekend!

Brunch at Mckiernan 2485 Notre Dame West: I'm not so familiar with this part of town, but this brunch looks too good, so I guess I'll get acquainted very soon.

Brunch at Laika 4040 Boul. St Laurent:
I've been to Laika a bunch of times for drinks at night, but never for brunch. This dish looks like a gourmet version of my favourite brunch from Senzala So I'll definitely have to compare.

Socalled - You are never alone

Montreal's klezmer/hip hop act Socalled has been named artist of the decade by pitchfork.
This is my favourite from the album "Ghettoblaster." (pretty cool video also!)

...And We're back (with a bit of a new look)!
Happy New Year!

mode.mange.musique's new year's resolution #1:
"On The Street" is a new section on my blog all about street style. I`ll be taking some candid and some not so candid shots around Montreal and Toronto, or where ever I happen to be.

This resolution has a few parts to it:

* Step 1) Get a decent camera
* Step 2) Learn how to use a camera (i don't know anything about photography)
* Step 3) Get out there and start snapping - so look out for me!

Johnny!

I saw Johnny Flynn's solo show yesterday, and he was absolutely amazing especially since he had no back up band. He definitely has an old folk soul inside of him. Here's a nice little song featuring Laura Marling. I'm currently trying to learn it on the guitar:

I didn't actually make this, and I don't usually use recipes but these look pretty delicious, and so does everything else at this website. I love creative recipes, especially since I'm getting tired of my usual culinary escapades, so i'm in need of some inspiration. Click here for the recipe:
