QUENTIN JONES

Feeling very inspired and motivated these days. If only there were more hours in a day! (Although i think my lack of sleep is somehow working for me).
I'd like to share a cool video and some work by Quentin Jones that I found via Dazed Digital. Quentin Jones is a fashion illustrator and film maker, she seems to have one of the coolest jobs around, and seems to be quite a cool girl herself. I love the childlike, messy yet polished style of her work. Check out this awesome video by my favourite, Todd Selby:

Check out some of her quirky illustrations:

Downsizing

Well folks, I've decided that managing two blogswas a little too much for me. While I loved my art and illustration blog, "Sign of the Seahorse," I've decided to stop posting there, and instead add an art+illustration section right here on my main blog. Hope you like it!
(ps my blog is going through some growing pains at the moment, so my appologies if the layout is looking a little wonky)

Sketchin up a storm lately

photo credit: sign of the seahorse (my art + illustration blog)

This is a sketch that I did using chalk pastels. I'm trying to sketch and paint a lot more lately. My current big painting project is a huge monster of a painting that I (over) ambitiously decided to do as a wedding gift for my brother. Its been taking me a lot longer than planned. Apparently landscapes are a lot more difficult than life paintings...who knew?

ps.If you like what you see on my illustration blog, do me a favour and scroll down to the bottom and become a follower and I'll love you forever!

Danny Roberts Illustrations

I've been obsessing over Danny Roberts' Illustration style lately. I've been following his blog Igor + Andre for a while now, and i love the honesty in all of his posts. Through his drawings and anecdotes, you can tell that illustrstion and fashion are things that he's truly passionate about, and that the fame and success that have come with it are just side notes and not his reason for starting the blog. I also can't believe the incredible progression of his illustration style since he first started. It shows that hours and hours of practice truly does pay off.

I love this little illustration, especially the song lyric added in (from the song "Look Up" by Stars)

From his series on Love:

Inspired by: Jeremy Eliosoff Art

These are some beautiful paintings by local Montreal artist Jeremy Eliosoff. I remember him from a couple of my Saturday life drawing workshops. I didn't quite realise his level of talent until i spotted a bunch of his paintings that are currently hanging in Casa Del Popolo.

Igor and Andre
is a beautiful blog by illustrator Danny Roberts. It has inspired me to draw again and to try some new techniques.
