MODERN RUSTIC

I saw this post on The Selby and while i love almost all of The Selby shoots, I think this one has to be my favourite so far.

 As you can see from the "Dream Spaces" section, my favourite home aesthetic is a Rustic/Vintage/Modern vibe. The photos from this shoot are of Hitoshi Uchida-San's home in Kamakura Japan. Hitoshi is an antique furniture company owner as you can tell by all of his beautifully weathered furniture. I love the the extreme rustic look of his place, as it still looks effortless and comfortable and I  love the fact that while all of the pieces are delicate, the home is still playful and kid friendly...gotta love that view also. This is how I want my house to look when I grow up.

I just wanted to say a special thanks to my friend Sabrina of the beautiful blog Love at First Blush for featuring me in the "In her closet" series. She took pictures of me and my roomie Candice (blogger extraodinaire of Dandelion Heart)in our space, showcasing our rooms and our favourite things (Candice's feature will be posted shortly). We had so much fun during the photoshoot, and it made me feel one step closer to my dream of being featured on The Selby.

Dream Spaces: The Ultimate Dream

Doub Hanshaw's (she's the creative director at Free People), 4500 square foot converted garage is my ultimate dream space. I love the ruggedness, the poured concrete floors, the industrial details, the rustic feel, the natural light, the high ceilings, the worn out details and the cozyness inspite of all those things.

I'm attracted to anything that looks like this these days; clothes, home decor, just as long as its colourful and playful. The Pre-fall runways are gradually starting to show a bit more fun in fashion again (more on that later). If i have to look at another camel piece of clothing i may barf.
