On The Street! Lauren

This is my friend Lauren who is a fashion designer and all around class act. Here she is in angelic white outside of the Orange Julep, a true Montreal landmark, famous for its mysterious frothy orange drink...frothy...ew gross word. Anyway look out Lauren's upcoming silent youtube show, where she uses gestures instead of words. That was a joke, but how I wish it were real.

On The Street! Laura J

This is my good friend and fellow blogger Laura J. She's always got a poppy fun look going on, usually with a pop of colour or a great novelty necklace. She's a mod girl at heart who looks to twiggy for fashion inspiration. She's even got a huge graphic mural on her wall of twiggy which she painted herself. Laura and I get along because we tend to share the same food cravings and same taste in super lame puns and jokes. We communicate telepathically most of the time.

If you're wondering about her socks, they're by Calgary based designer Adejoke Taiwo (you might remember her from Project Runway Canada). The socks along with the rest of her line are available here.
I bought 2 pairs also!

Check out her cool blog {Noeud Noir}

And Also, side note - I've got to get a real camera...iPhone really isn't cutting it.

On The Street! Soya Bean

This is my friend Viet AKA Soya Bean. He always looks so effortlessly cool, but one day last week I just had to take a picture of his Wangtastic look.
Wearing:
Back Pack and Shoes: Alexander Wang
Jacket - Viet's own design (oh yeah he's a very talented fashion designer)

Viet is also a fellow blogger, check out his fashion blog The Soya Bean , and his photo blog Lapin Noir.

Tommy Ton on the street

My Favourite of Tommy Ton's streetstyle pictures from various Fall 11 fashion weeks. I still haven't bought my camera yet, so until then I'll be posting other people's fab street shots.

DIY project perhaps?

Effortless vintage cool.

Music Festivalin'

All Photos: GQ.com

I'm extremely jealous of the lineup for Coachella this year, so much so that i couldn't bear to finish reading it. We have our own little music festival here in Montreal, and this year its going to run for 3 days instead of 2! Eminem is headlining, which I find hilarious...I can't say that I'm much of a fan anymore, but he could be entertaining. Some exciting acts on the lineup are: Beirut(!!), Sia, Bright Eyes, Death from Above 1979, Kid Cudi, Ratatat, Yoav, Braids, Smith Westerns...I'm sure some big names will be added closer to the date. The lineup so far doesn't sound as exciting as last year, but either way I love an outdoor summer festival. Above are some shots of stylish festival goers from GQ of last year's Osheaga.

...and we're back!

...And We're back (with a bit of a new look)!
Happy New Year!

mode.mange.musique's new year's resolution #1:
"On The Street" is a new section on my blog all about street style. I`ll be taking some candid and some not so candid shots around Montreal and Toronto, or where ever I happen to be.

This resolution has a few parts to it:

* Step 1) Get a decent camera
* Step 2) Learn how to use a camera (i don't know anything about photography)
* Step 3) Get out there and start snapping - so look out for me!

Fuji Rock

I love this girl's outfit choice for this year's 13th anual Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. Sure the Osheaga Fest in Montreal had some great artists on their lineup, and there were some note-worthy fashion choices among the crowd...but what i would give to have been a part of this festival for so many reasons!
