The Belles of the Black Diamond Field

Maximilla Lucaks and Sarah Sophie Flicker have created some beautifully eerie shorts under the name "The Belles of the Black Diamond Field."

Thank you to the blog Adventurous Eve for introducing me to these films, featuring dreamy casts including Karen Elson and Zooey Deschenel. The imagery in these short films is gorgeous and ethereal, and The Belles have collaborated with Erin Featherson as well as Topshop for costumes to match the magical moods. Every frame is breathtaking, as you can tell from the stills taken from "Spell," posted above. Maximilla and Sarah said they tried to capture the images they imagined in their heads, by experimenting with new techniques, even putting vaseline on the camera lense to create the whimsical mood.
