Cream of the Crop

As a child of the 90s, I can't help but love a good crop top...that is if it's worn correctly, which in my humble opinion should be paired with a high rise pant or skirt, showing just a little skin above the belly button. While, I absolutely loved the Dolce & Gabbana Spring '12 collection and campaign, nobody rocked a crop quite as well as Bayside High's own Kelly Kapowski (with the West Beverly girls coming in very close second). With summer festivals coming up (Osheaga here in Montreal), what better time to pull out my crop top collection? - yes i may or may not have a drawer full of them.

Osheaga 2011

I'm currently recovering from a wild weekend of amazing music at the 2011 Osheaga Festival in Montreal. Montreal is full of fun festivals and activities all summer long, but this one is by far my favourite...music & wild outfits, whats not to love? I have to say I'm a little bummed out now that its all over. The festival closed yesterday with an unbelievable psychedelic performance by The Flaming Lips. They truly put on one of the best live performances ever, equipped with wizard of oz characters, an onstage marriage, space bubbles and teletubbies. What I loved most is how positive and fun loving they are. The performance also reminded me of a much smaller scale act I saw at the jazz fest earlier in the month by Halifax's Rich Aucoin. Other highlights for me were a brilliant performance by my favourite band Beirut, Cypress Hill, Ohland, The Tragically Hip, Death From Above 1979, Sia, The Luyas, and Ratatat, to name a few.

Music Festivalin'

All Photos: GQ.com

I'm extremely jealous of the lineup for Coachella this year, so much so that i couldn't bear to finish reading it. We have our own little music festival here in Montreal, and this year its going to run for 3 days instead of 2! Eminem is headlining, which I find hilarious...I can't say that I'm much of a fan anymore, but he could be entertaining. Some exciting acts on the lineup are: Beirut(!!), Sia, Bright Eyes, Death from Above 1979, Kid Cudi, Ratatat, Yoav, Braids, Smith Westerns...I'm sure some big names will be added closer to the date. The lineup so far doesn't sound as exciting as last year, but either way I love an outdoor summer festival. Above are some shots of stylish festival goers from GQ of last year's Osheaga.
