Ode to Phillip Lim
Phillip Lim is one of my absolute favourite designers, with his understated, effortlessly cool and elegant looks. What I love about his designs is the attention to detail and quality. His line is still young, as it was launched only 5 years ago and is still privately owned. That being said, sales for the company are rumoured to be 60 million dollars (after just 5 years!!).
He's a huge inspiration to me, and I can't help but feel like we share some sort of designer wavelength connection. I would love to meet him someday, and this video confirms the fact that he not only has an inspirational story, but seems to be a very down to earth and genuine person.

Finally I'm posting some of my favourite Fall 2010 looks:
Starting with NYC and my favourite Phillip Lim

And here's a song to listen to from Jason Schwartzman's band Coconut Records. Also check out the song "Wires" from the album "Davy."

One day Phillip...one day....

Ok so i know thats a large claim, to say that the talented Phillip Lim and I are kindred design spirits. But I really feel that he understands me on a design level, even though we've never actually met. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to afford one of his pieces, and maybe we'll meet and collaborate and make beautiful collections... Well one can have dreams....
I wanted to post some pictures of accordions, because I think they're pretty cool and like them almost as banjos, when i came across this accordion necklace by Phil himself. I'm just sayin....
