My Friend Jen of Aesthetically Inclined, brought over these amazing cookies that she made, when she last visited us in Montreal. She called them Chocolate Souflé cookies. I later renamed them "Chocolate Clouds," because they really are like eating little chocolate clouds that fell from the heavens. They are the absolute best chocolate cookies I've ever had. Actually, they aren't really cookies at all, they are chocolate meringue and are absolutely amazing. Jen gave me the recipe, and my roomate Candice and I made them yesterday for our friend Laura's birthday. They are super easy to make and hardly take any ingredients at all. check it out!
At First I wasn't a fan of Joanna Newsom. I couldn't get past her eery munchkin voice, but the more i listened, the more i couldn't stop. I think she's an amazing song writer, and i now appreciate her voice for its unique and haunting sound and her quirky style. This is my first combined fashion and music post, because Joanna Newsom has an awesome sense of style. Her playful yet sophisticated hippie look, makes her one of my top style icons.
February's British Vogue features model Natalia Vodianova, wearing major label designer dresses that will be auctioned off in April to raise money for her charity The Naked Heart Foundation. At first I was going to post just a few of these images, found on Fashion Gone Rogue, but then I loved them all so much, that i had to post all them.
I'm currently trying to shake off some winter blues, and what better way than a little comfort food? This is something a little different that The Selby is trying; photographing chefs prepping and at work at New York City restaurant, Il Buco.
I wish i known about this restaurant, when I was in the city in September. The restaurant itself has that exact type of rustic, hearty elegance in the decor that i absolutely love. The food looks like its been prepared with the same type of feeling in mind. Here are some pictures of the chefs shopping for food, preparing and finally serving in the restaurant. Also there are two recipes that i wanted to post mostly because of the way they are written/drawn (they sort of sum up exactly the crazy way that i like to cook. Trust me, its so much more fun that way).

This is how i feel today. Illustration by MC (me!)
This is a beautiful song by the talented Montreal singer, Lhasa De Sela, who sadly passed away on January 1st. I was lucky enough to see her perform with Patrick Watson at a small show in Montreal last winter.

Here are some nice illustrations to look at, while you listen to some songs on here. They were drawn by the talented Gabriel Moreno.
